Beattie is really, very excited to be working as a Fundraising Trainee at the Ministry of Stories; mainly because it sounds like a very serious role for the government but actually involves thinking a LOT about the needs of monsters. Also a freelance playwright and poet, Beattie feels inspired by the incredibly creative minds of the young writers (and ever-so-slightly jealous too).
